Pinterest is a great website which allows its users to create theme based image collections on their digital pin boards. Users can pin inspirational images and share with others who can Like, Comment or ‘re-pin’images to their own digital pin boards. I am loving this site because I love visuals, they really help get the creative juices flowing.
However, I read an article the other day where a photographer was complaining about Pinterest. Apparently it is infringing on the his rights. However, I don’t see the harm because it is not being used for commercial use and we are certainly not making money by ‘pinning’. In fact, these images are ‘pinned’ because they are loved and users want to share. Surely its a compliment to the photographer that their work is being shared for the rest of the world to admire.
Personally, I do not see the harm in it, and will continue pinning so that I can have those things I love looking at in one place. What do you think? Perhaps I’m not being fair. Take a look and judge for yourself Pinterest
